Teacher of IT & Computing job summary

The role - Commencing September 2024 or sooner for right candidate

North Oxfordshire Academy looking to recruit a motivated and inspiring teacher who is a specialist in Computing and will be able to teach up to A Level.

Candidates will need excellent planning skills, good classroom management and be committed to improving the outcomes of all our students. This post would suit an experienced teacher looking to bring computing into our curriculum.

The successful candidate will foster a love of their subject through passion, enthusiasm, and strong subject knowledge. They will be committed to the opportunities Computing can provide and be keen to explore these both within and beyond the classroom.

The ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage but not a necessity.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at KS3/4/5.
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work.
  • Have high expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement, and behaviour.
  • Have an ability to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Support our enrichment programme by facilitating co-curricular clubs.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
