We are committed to providing children with a high-quality education in a secure and nurturing setting. Our inspiring curriculum and dedication to providing quality learning outcomes enables all pupils to experience “Excellence, Enrichment and Enjoyment” and to achieve their best. We aim to prepare our young pupils for life in a rapidly changing society where they will need a high level of self-esteem and confidence, a positive attitude towards learning, good communication skills and a thoughtful approach to citizenship. Everyone at Greenleas is respected and valued and there is equal opportunity for all. The school is relaxed and happy but we expect and achieve high standards. Discipline is based upon care for each other and positive reinforcement. Pupils contribute to shaping the school ethos through the School Council and achievements are shared and celebrated.
Professional development of staff is a priority and often achieved through a whole school approach where staff train, work and learn together. There is a culture of self-evaluation with all staff involved in school improvement. Greenleas enjoys support and effective challenge from an engaged and committed Governing Body and there are strong links with the local learning community (27 schools) and particularly with the middle schools to ensure a smooth transition for pupils moving from Year 4 to Year 5. The active PTA organises social and fund raising events several times a year and supports the work of the school in many different ways.
