What skills and experience we're looking for

St Thomas More Catholic Academy & Sixth Form College is a positive mixed 11-18 Catholic Academy with a strong moral and spiritual ethos. The Governors wish to make the following appointment for a maternity cover for September 2024. The Governors invite applications for the post of KS5 Teacher of Criminology with the potential to offer any other social science subject alongside.

The Role

The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students.

The ideal candidate will have the skills to teach Level 3 Applied Diploma in Criminology to Yr12 & 13.

It would be advantageous if the applicant could also offer either:

  • A Level Sociology
  • KS5 Health & Social Care

Although St Thomas More is a Catholic Academy, candidates do not have to be Catholic to apply for the role. We would require the successful applicant to promote and support the Catholic life of the school and sixth form.
