What skills and experience we're looking for
As the school's Teacher of Law you will join our Law department. You will be responsible for:
- Setting high expectations for all learners
- Teaching our ambitious curriculum to our students in Years 7 to 13
- Teaching excellent lessons for our students which are well prepared and planned
- Assessing students' progress and adapting teaching to ensure that you are meeting the needs of all learners
- Contributing to our curriculum planning with our Law team
- Love your subject. Stay invested in it, taking your own professional development seriously
- Teach students according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking/assessment of work to be carried out by the student in school and elsewhere
- To plan lessons in accordance with school policy to ensure all students make effective progress
- To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and to keep such records as are required
- Provide and/or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students and groups of students taught or tutored
- Ensure that ICT, Literacy, Numeracy and subject specialism are reflected in the teaching/learning experience of students
- Undertake a designated programme of teaching
- To ensure a high-quality learning experience for students which meets internal and external quality standards
- To prepare and update subject materials
- Relevant Subject Degree at BA or above
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Evidence of teaching experience
- Evidence of applying continued professional development
- Experienced with lesson planning and effective assessment for learning
- Experience using ICT in teaching and learning
- Ability to teach to A Level standard
- Inspire our students to have high aspirations and achieve their full potential
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff, governors, parents, students and the community

Malcolm Arnold Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, for students aged 11-18.
The school takes its name from the legendary composer Sir Malcolm Arnold. Born in Northampton in 1921, he was one of the leading figures in 20th-century classical music and helped to establish the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
