We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly effective teacher of PE. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to develop in a supportive, well-resourced and exciting environment. The vacancy is suitable for experienced or NQT candidates.
At Litherland High School we believe in providing our students with excellent and exciting educational opportunities based on the core values of respect, a broad and balanced curriculum and high aspiration, where there is no cap on ambition building the skills for successful lives. We are proud to have achieved the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) with Centre of Excellence status for outstanding levels of inclusion and best practice. We are resolutely on our journey to provide an outstanding education for our students.
If you can inspire, encourage, achieve, enjoy working with young people and are determined to make a real difference to the children you teach then you could be the kind of teacher we are looking for.
Our PE Department is dedicated to promoting PE and Sport, ensuring lessons and extra-curricular is inclusive, innovative and engaging for all our students. We have an excellent link with Litherland Sports Park who allow us to use their facilities to deliver our lessons. We also have a Sports Hall, Dance Studio and Activity Studio.
PE is taught at KS3 and KS4. At KS4 students have the option to continue as a core subject or gain a WJEC Level 1/2 vocational qualification in Sport and Coaching Principles. The uptake to do the course has been very popular with our students. At KS3 we offer a variety of sports to ensure we have full engagement from all students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach PE across both KS3 and KS4 to mainly boys and some mixed classes, and be committed to offering extra-curricular.
