Teacher of Mathematics (0.6 -1FTE) job summary
The King's Academy are looking to recruit a Teacher of Mathematics who will enthuse pupils to learn with a combination of great subject knowledge, energy and dedication.
We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.

The mathematics department provides education to all students in Years 7 to 11 and to a significant proportion of our sixth form (roughly 40% of students engage in a maths qualification in Key Stage 5). The department delivers GCSE and Entry Level qualifications during Key Stage 4 and offers A level mathematics and A level further mathematics in Key Stage 5. The department is led by the Head of Department, supported by three Key Stage coordinators, and operates from eleven classrooms, all equipped with smart panels installed in the last year.
The successful candidate will:
- develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives
- facilitate learning by establishing effective relationship with pupils
- maintain organised learning resources
- create a positive learning environment in the classroom
- develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children
- assess and record progress and prepare pupils for national tests
- link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further, challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.
