What skills and experience we're looking for

The role:

We are looking to appoint a full-time permanent Teacher of Mathematics to join our well-resourced, high achieving and friendly Maths team from September 2024. Applications seeking a part time role will also be considered.

Our team of 30 Maths teachers and support staff work collaboratively in a suited block of classrooms, in which every teacher has their own classroom, to deliver excellent outcomes for our students at GCSE and A Level, where Maths and Further Maths are very popular courses.

Given the size of the school the Maths team consists of a wide range of staff with diverse experiences and skills. The team are very welcoming and supportive of each other and have created a fantastic culture. We are seeking a talented teacher who can add their qualities to the mix and enjoy developing their career as part of a caring and ambitious Maths team. Opportunities for progression in such a large team and school are ever present.

The person:

We are looking for a reflective and passionate Maths teacher with the enthusiasm to fit in with the committed and collaborative approach of the team. The post would suit both a teacher at the start of their career or a more experienced teacher who would welcome the freedom to teach in their own style with the guidance of a humane and supportive leadership in a calm and purposeful environment.

The successful candidate should share a love of Maths, the ability to build excellent relationships with our wonderful students and staff and the determination to deliver excellent outcomes for students.

We are exceptionally pleased with our most recent Maths GCSE results (August 23) which represent another significant step forward for the faculty. 78% of students achieved a Grade 4 in Maths, 67% a Grade 5 and a Progress figure for for Maths of +0.22. Similar success was seen at our large Post 16 Centre (NOR 600) where Maths and Further Maths are very popular and successful subjects.

***Please note: Applicants must be able to attend the school in person if selected for interview we do not offer remote interviews.***
