What skills and experience we're looking for
Queen Mary’s Grammar School, Walsall, is an invigorating and rewarding place to work: the pupils are engaged and committed to study; the staff are intelligent, friendly and forward-looking.
Due to the departure of the current postholder, the growth of the school and the increasing popularity of the subject, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our collaborative and flourishing department. Our ideal candidate will be a maths specialist who can teach excellent dynamic lessons, incorporating a wide range of ICT within their skill set. Teaching mathematics in KS3, KS4 and KS5 is essential, please make this clear in your application. Due to the increasing popularity of Mathematics and Further Mathematics at Queen Mary’s is it necessary that an applicant can teach A-Level Mathematics; furthermore, the ability to teach Further Maths would put candidates at an advantage. Applications are welcome from both newly qualified and experienced teachers.
What the school offers its staff

- we take our mental health seriously, considering workload and staff wellbeing
- a dedicated induction programme for new staff and ECTs to ensure you are supported at whatever stage of your career you join us
- opportunities to play a role in the wider life of the school, including involvement in the CCF, music, debating, drama, coaching of sports teams and other trips and opportunities, such as visits to Farchynys (our Welsh field centre)
- career progression – many of our current middle and senior leaders are “home-grown” promotions from within.
