We are an 11-16 academy based in Wakefield in West Yorkshire.
At the heart of everything we do is excellent teaching and the highest standards of behaviour. We champion innovation in all aspects of learning, while striving to develop a school-wide mindset based around mutual respect and tolerance.
In short, we believe that today’s passions can become the foundations for tomorrow’s successful careers.
We also aim to develop students’ critical faculties and encourage them to take ownership of their learning, stimulating them to investigate career paths and maximise their level of literacy.
As we look to build on our success, we want you to help to take us to the next level.
To help you do that, we work hard to ensure we reduce workload on our colleagues, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
We will also actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.
We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including an Employee Assistance Programme and a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.
