What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an exceptional teacher of mathematics to teach our highly engaged and ambitious students.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with highly motivated students who are aiming for the highest standards at GCSE and A-Level. The mathematics curriculum at Wallington County Grammar School is rich and challenging and includes, at KS4, the delivery of AQA's Level 2 Further Mathematics and OCR's Level 3 Additional Mathematics and, at KS5, A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. It is an extremely popular subject with 127 students currently in our Upper Sixth Form and 176 students in our Lower Sixth Form, with 68 students choosing to study related subjects at university in 2023.

The key focuses of this role will be to:

  • deliver high quality and engaging lessons to students in KS3, KS4 and KS5;

  • support in the planning and resourcing of the department with a particular focus on Key Stage 3 mathematics;

  • engage in research into evidence based pedagogy and curriculum developments in mathematics and lead CPD on your findings;
