Teacher of Mathematics job summary
Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful and popular 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a rapidly growing roll (currently 775 students). It has a caring ethos and a long tradition of academic attainment.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, talented and well-qualified teacher of mathematics to join our successful and supportive Mathematics, Business & IT faculty full-time from January 2023 (an earlier start date may be possible). The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the development of mathematics across Key Stages 3 & 4 from January 2023.
Candidates should have the right attributes to make a valid contribution to the wider school community and ensure that our pupils make excellent progress
We are looking for someone who:
- consistently models or aspires to model excellent practice and has pupils’ achievement and progress at the forefront of their teaching and leadership focus
- is an outstanding mathematics teacher across key stages 3 & 4, or who has the potential and desire to become so
- wants an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant organisation that makes a difference to young peoples’ lives
- can make a significant positive contribution to the whole school by contributing to developing this strong and successful faculty and the growth of mathematics & numeracy within the school framework.
