We are a fully-staffed, well-resourced department. The team for 2022 will consist of an excellent ECT and staff with experience ranging from 3 years to over 20 years in the classroom.
We all hold a common passion for sharing our love of mathematics and helping our students to achieve their very best. Whenever possible, we work collaboratively – joint planning of schemes of work and sharing best practice are at the heart of the department. We are open to change and willing to try new ideas that will benefit our students; this open mind-set is something we foster in our own students with excellent results.
Exam results have increased steadily over the last three years and we are all committed to continuing this trend.
Maths classes in KS3 are predominantly mixed ability so a willingness to promote high expectations and differentiate for progress is essential. We are truly comprehensive and you should expect the full range of ability. We believe in maximising students KS3 learning to ensure students are fully prepared before they begin GCSE studies. Over our two-year GCSE, we follow the Edexcel curriculum. We will also be offering GCSE Statistics this year as an option.
You would be joining the team at an exciting stage of its development as we continue to adapt our curriculum and practice in order to give our students the best learning experience. We are always keen to embrace new ideas and initiatives and would welcome the input from a keen and talented individual who would like to join us on this journey.
