Teacher of Mathematics and Computing job summary

Broadland High Ormiston Academy is an oversubscribed 11-16 academy. We are very proud of our strong reputation for providing all our students with an inspiring and challenging learning experience based around excellent teaching, traditional student standards and values as well as high quality pastoral care, guidance and support. As a member of the Ormiston Academies Trust family we are excited to be part of a strong regional and national network of schools that work collaboratively in ‘Achieving More Together’. We are a 'Good' academy as judged by Ofsted in 2016. Outcomes at the end of Key Stage 4 are strong and show that all student groups make good progress and attainment against national standards. Our students are courteous, hardworking and engaged in their learning and are superbly supported by our highly dedicated and committed team of staff.

We are seeking to appoint an excellent Teacher of Mathematics and Computing who is passionate, enthusiastic, with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage and enthuse students through their teaching. The post will require the successful candidate to teach Key Stage 3 Maths and Computing, and to teach either Maths or Computing at KS4.

The Mathematics department is a highly successful team of experienced teachers who work together to develop the curriculum and support our students. Outcomes at KS4 are consistently above the national average for progress and attainment.

The Computing department is growing at Broadland as we look to expand our KS3 curriculum to encompass aspects of design, from CAD/CAM and physical computing to image editing and animation. The successful applicant will be involved in the development of the curriculum, and there is the potential of a one year recruitment and retention allowance for a suitably experienced candidate who is able to lead on this work. This could be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to move into middle leadership in the near future.

If you are dedicated, hardworking and have the commitment and passion to be part of our ambitious team we would welcome an application from you. Visits to our academy are strongly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the Principal’s PA Mrs Sharon Trevatt. sharontrevatt@broadlandhighOA.co.uk

The successful applicant will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employees and the Disclosure Baring Service.
