The successful candidate should be:

  • Hard working and fully committed to the ethos of the academy.
  • Confident in teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas, taking responsibility for new initiatives.
  • Keen to support the teaching of excellence by improving student outcomes.
  • Someone with sky high expectations of students, whilst fully appreciating the need to provide encouragement and support to students of all abilities.
  • Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools.
  • Interested in continuing professional development.

Buckler’s Mead is an ambitious school on the rise. Following a hugely successful summer where the academy recorded the best results in its history, we are now looking to recruit to key positions to continue this exceptional school improvement journey. This is an exciting opportunity for an established teacher, or someone new to the profession, to join us in the next phase of our development and get fully involved in all aspects of academy life.

Mathematics is a subject highly regarded by staff and students of Buckler’s Mead Academy. Over recent years, thesubject has seen rapid improvements in KS4 outcomes alongside curriculum and teaching developments. The Department is a well led, highly supportive and cohesive team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about their subject and eager to make a genuine difference to our students.

Originally established as Buckler's Mead School in 1957, Buckler’s Mead Academy is now a successful 11- 16 academy where we pride ourselves on providing an inspiring education for all.
