Chelmsford County High School for Girls is one of the most successful girls’ selective schools in the country. We are seeking a strong classroom practitioner, who is passionate about Mathematics and has the ability to inspire students to success.

The Mathematics Department at Chelmsford County High School for Girls consists of 12 teachers working in a friendly and supportive team. We exchange resources and ideas, both formally and informally, while working in our shared working area. The department has an excellent track record of success and is willing to work hard to make the “best better”; the relationships between staff and students are of the highest quality.

Located in Chelmsford, Essex, Chelmsford County High School for Girls is a selective grammar school for girls aged 11-18. Founded in 1906, it currently has around 900 students.

In early 2011, Chelmsford County High School for Girls converted to academy status. It has seen extensive expansion and development over the years, and recently established a new languages centre.

Chelmsford County High School for Girls has a wide catchment area and high standards for entry. The school does not produce an in-house entrance exam for prospective Year 7 students, instead using the CEM test also in use by a number of other grammar schools. CCHS accepts new entrants to its Sixth Form, with the admissions criteria here being based on GCSE results.

The secondary school has a strong reputation for academic excellence. It maintains this by providing its students with not only a high-quality core curriculum, but also a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
