Teacher of Mathematics job summary
Mathematics has been at the heart of the school’s improvement in recent years. In the last two years the percentage of GCSE candidates achieving at least a grade 4 had risen to over 69%; with a positive P8 score in both years. These pleasing results also extend to sixth form with over 48% of students achieving an A or A* at the end of the course.
We now seek a Teacher who will see this record as a foundation for continuing progress. There will be ten specialist staff with whom to work, a suite of rooms with supporting facilities and a readiness to respond to innovation.
You will be ambitious will support achievement across the entire range of ability. Some of the department's most effective recent work has been with those who find the subject most difficult.
In particular we are seeing an individual who:
Is an excellent classroom practitioner
Can rapidly identify their own professional development needs and communicate these effectively
Is committed to the use of new technologies to improve teaching and learning
Will work with the Department to develop appropriate curriculum content for each level of learning which is challenging, engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all students
