Teacher of Mathematics job summary

Acle Academy is a thriving oversubscribed secondary school for 11–16-year-olds located in the heart of the Broadland area only 12 miles from the centre of Norwich. We strive to create well-rounded, responsible individuals who seize opportunities, discover their passions and love to learn throughout life. Acle Academy has a strong academic reputation and was graded Ofsted ‘Good’ in 2022.

The Maths faculty consists of five teachers and this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic colleague to join this motivated team. We are looking for a committed, proactive and hardworking full-time teacher of Mathematics, with a good subject knowledge and a sense of enjoyment for Maths. The successful candidate will be required to teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Students enjoy Maths and achieve good outcomes in their GCSE examinations at Acle Academy, which has been shown by strong success rates. However, the successful candidate will need to have, or establish, tools to promote an enjoyment of the subject in students who may not be so enthusiastic. This post represents an excellent professional development opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Mathematics to develop their classroom practice by working as part of a strong and dedicated team both departmentally, and beyond. Knowledge of the AQA Maths GCSE course and a strong commitment to extra-curricular opportunities are desirable. In addition, a good knowledge of data handling and use of Excel would be an advantage.

Are you:

  • enthusiastic about your subject?
  • a dedicated and imaginative practitioner, who is passionate about teaching and learning?
  • someone who has high aspirations for students, and can contribute new and innovative ideas to curriculum and extracurricular developments?
