Teacher of Mathematics for Sept 2020 job summary
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring teacher to join our friendly and supportive team in a brilliant department. Whether you are an NQT looking for an encouraging first school or an established teacher looking for further responsibilities, we would like to hear from you. Ordinarily we would encourage you to come and visit our school and meet the staff and students. However, with schools closed this is not currently possible, but our website will give you an idea of what it would be like to join the teaching team at St Birinus.
The school has a reputation for dynamic and innovative Teaching and Learning – and we welcome applications from candidates who will be able to contribute to this ethos. The Maths Faculty has excellent student outcomes both at GCSE and A Level, in the top 10% of any school in the UK. Maths is a very popular course in the Sixth Form so there are opportunities for AS and A2 teaching for those interested.
St Birinus School is judged to be a Good school with students meeting the school’s high expectations (OFSTED Report February 2020). The OFSTED reports states “St Birinus School is a vibrant and inspiring place for pupils to learn. Pupils are very proud of their school. They feel it is a friendly and welcoming place where they really feel valued.” St Birinus is in the top 5% of all schools nationally for boys’ progress which accurately reflects our aspirational expectations and ethos.
Due to the exceptional circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic we will interview via conference call, Skype or other remote application.
