Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic teacher to join this successful department in a thriving School. The team achieves excellent outcomes for students at A-Level and GCSE. The School has an excellent record of developing highly effective teachers.

The Mathematics team regularly mentor trainee Maths teachers and this post would be suitable for either an experienced teacher or an NQT.

We are looking for someone who is:

Successful relevant teaching experience across a range of student abilities within secondary schools
A commitment to comprehensive education and to providing good pastoral care of students
A commitment to the concept of lifelong learning and to a school culture sensitive to ethical values, spirituality in its broadest sense, and celebration of the achievements of all
Good knowledge of what makes effective teaching and learning
Good ICT skills, good knowledge of the curriculum and of recent educational developments
The ability to motivate students
Well developed organisational, interpersonal and presentational skills
The ability to contribute to the development of Mathematics and the School in general
Integrity, honesty, consistency of approach and a respect for others
Enthusiasm, energy, initiative, ambition
Approachable manner, sense of humour, ability to listen
Forming and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with children
Stamina to cope with the job
