We are now looking for a Teacher of Mathematics at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading. Our school is an ambitious, over-subscribed 11-16 secondary school in an urban context which is as committed to the welfare of students and staff as it is our high quality education. All applications must hold Qualified Teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

Experience of planning and preparing highly effective lessons (including incorporating cross-curricular elements such as literacy, numeracy and PSMSC) under the guidance of the Head of Department and in line with Trust/school Schemes of Work and Assessment.
Ability to motivate and inspire students so that they enjoy their learning, can manage their own learning effectively and want to aim as high as possible.
Experience of directing and supervising support staff assigned to lessons.
Experience of preparing students for internal and external assessment/examinations.
Can enrich the curriculum with trips and visits to enhance the learning experience of all students.
Capacity to keep up to date with developments relating to the subjects taught, examinations and good practice generally.
