What the school offers its staff
Teaching and Learning
In Key Stage 3, the Maths Department uses its own scheme of work that is supported by a series of KS3 resources, allowing students to move through their learning journey at a pace that is appropriate for them. In Year 7, classes are taught in mixed ability form groups for the first term. From Christmas onwards, Maths is taught in ability groups that are regularly monitored to ensure all students are in an appropriate group.
At Key Stage 4, we follow the OCR GCSE specification, students also have the option to study GCSE Statistics as part of our options provision.
GCSE results for 2021/2022.
GCSE Maths 9 – 4: 70%
GCSE Maths 9 – 5:44%
GCSE Maths 9 – 7:12%
Maths P8: -0.33
At A level 65% of all grades were an A* to C in 2021/22 with 36% achieving A* - B. We are keen to develop our strategies further to raise attainment across the ability range and the successful candidate will be central in driving this next phase.
