Newquay Tretherras is the largest school in Cornwall, set on the beautiful north coast. We are a popular and over-subscribed school at the heart of our community. We are known for being an inclusive school with a caring family ethos. Our judicious curriculum is ambitious and aspirational for all of our children as we believe that a great set of exam results, whatever a child’s starting points, opens doors to exciting futures. Our staff set high standards and we aim to ensure that all our children are inspired in school to become the best that they can be, realise their full potential and achieve remarkable things. Tretherras students are a pleasure to teach and learn with: they know that their education is important for their life chances and they take full advantage of the incredible range of clubs, experiences and facilities offers to them at Tretherras, both within and beyond the classroom.
We have a large team of specialist staff who are fully committed to our students and to each other. We offer excellent pastoral and professional support for all our staff and our dedicated Learning Team ensures high quality training and career development opportunities for all, whatever the stage of your career. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher, you will find Tretherras to be a school that will invest in you personally. We offer an extensive and highly supportive programme for teachers in the early stages of their career and there are lots of opportunities to become involved in the wider life of the school. As a member of CELT and a partner of Pensinsula Teaching School, we also provide an extensive CPD programme and opportunities to share school improvement expertise with colleagues from across the four secondary schools in the Trust.
If you are passionate about your subject and enthusiastic about working with fantastic young people, we would love to hear from you.
