Teacher of Mathematics - permanent job summary

This is permanent position but due to the current circumstances and the fact that we are unable to meet the requirements of our recruitment policy, this role is being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract in the first instance.

Due to an increased number of students on roll we are expanding the number of teaching groups for certain subjects which will also allow us to provide effective catch up for our students. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics who can excite and motivate young people, is a team player and strives to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.

The department is well resourced, with teamwork and support being central to the success of the department. At KS4 we deliver GCSE Statistics and Further Maths in addition to GCSE Maths. We have a thriving 6th Form with high levels of take up at both ‘A’ Level Maths and Further Maths and the majority of our KS5 students take Core Maths.

Applications are welcome from both NQTs and more experienced colleagues. We offer an excellent NQT support programme with a bespoke schedule of training and mentors.

Bingley Grammar is an oversubscribed 11-18 voluntary aided comprehensive school which was judged ‘good’ by OFSTED in 2018. The Maths faculty comprises of an enthusiastic team of 17 members of staff who are committed to working together to drive further improvements across the department.

• Providing high quality teaching of Maths
• Raising student attainment
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress
• Supporting the vision and values of the school

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Knowledge and experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths, with the opportunity of teaching KS5
• Up to date teaching methodology
• A passion for inspiring young people to attain the highest level possible
• An ability to work confidently within a team and communicate effectively
