What skills and experience we're looking for

  • QTS status
  • Qualification to the equivalent of degree level in Maths or a related subject
  • Experience with teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4
  • Have excellent classroom management which is based on good relationships and driven by appropriately pitched mathematics lessons
  • Good classroom practitioner who engages and motivate students
  • Receive and act upon feedback to improve one’s teaching
  • Utilise student previous and current data to close gaps in knowledge and unpick misconceptions.
  • To uphold the teaching code of conduct within the classroom and around the school
  • Integrity
  • Determination to encourage the highest quality of learning experience for all students

    Walsall Academy in Bloxwich, Walsall opened in September 2003. The student enrolment is 1390 with 1060 in the lower school and a further 330 students in the Sixth Form. The School is one of a number of City Academies established in England prior to the expansion of the Academies Programme in 2010 and was originally sponsored by The Mercers’ Company of the City of London and Thomas Telford School.
