What skills and experience we're looking for
Phoenix is a multi-cultural 11-19 secondary school, serving 1,965 students in the north of West Bromwich close to the border with Walsall in the West Midlands. Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.
Over recent years examination results have been improving rapidly and 2019 validated progress measure was +0.08 (FFT). This has been maintained and the 2022 published VA shows that we are continuing to show positive progress despite the challenges of recent years. Phoenix is a school that aspires to turn every child’s dream into reality; believes that there is no limit to what can be achieved and succeeds through passion, commitment and determination.
We are seeking to appoint a highly talented and innovative, qualified teacher of Maths to join our friendly and supportive team. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to inspire excellent learning. For a suitably qualified candidate there is the opportunity to teach A-Level Maths and Further Maths or Level 3 'Core Maths'.
What the school offers its staff
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to develop their passion for learning and create a positive and inspiring learning environment for our students. This position will suit both newly qualified and experienced candidates, and is ideal for recent entrants to the profession. As a school we have a fabulous CPD offer to support colleagues at whatever point in their career they are from our ITT to our senior leaders. We also offer our staff a supportive welfare package including, but not limited to, access to physiotherapy, nurse & doctor appointments and counselling.
Phoenix is one of only a few schools nationally to benefit from the government’s priority schools building programme and our state of the art facilities are second to none.
The students and staff at Phoenix face an exciting future. If you would like to be part of a school that is committed to becoming the very best, and if you can inspire and motivate our students, you could be the person for this role.
