Teacher of Maths (1FTE) - Doncaster and Scunthorpe job summary

This is a regional appointment which includes academies in both Doncaster and Scunthorpe, although the successful candidate will initially be based at Outwood Academy Foxhills in Scunthorpe.

Outwood Academy Foxhills, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire is within easy reach of Lincoln, Grimsby and the east of Doncaster. In its most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2019 maintained the grading of Good with Outstanding for Leadership and Management.

Outwood Academy Foxhills, as part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust is right at the forefront of maths education, both in terms of ensuring students are taught maths for deep understanding, and in enabling every students to leave school with a maths qualification that opens doors for them. We have a curriculum that allows for this and the training and support for teachers to feel confident to facilitate this for all.

Our Senior Director leads the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub. This, as well as her work with the DfE, means OGAT maths is helping to inform and mould the landscape of maths, regionally and nationally.

We have a great training package for NQTs and teachers new to the academy including: Teaching for Mastery; Open Classroom events; Maths Matters; TSST; Reasoning at KS3; weekly professional development time and further programmes free through the Outwood Institute of Education. We invest in you so you invest in our students.

utwood Academy Foxhills (formerly Invenio Academy) opened on 1st September 2014, sponsored by Outwood Grange Academies Trust. Outwood Grange Academy founded the Trust to lead the improvement of other schools in the North East of England. Prior to its conversion, the former Invenio Academy had been placed in Special Measures following an Ofsted Inspection In January 2014.

Following a successful Ofsted Inspection in January 2016, Outwood Academy Foxhills was awarded National Support School status, This was in recognition of the remarkable journey made by the school with the support of its students, staff, parents/carers and governors.

In 2018 the Academy celebrated results with students gaining 45.6% 5+ and 62% 4+ in English & Maths.

We are committed to providing high standards of education for students. Our innovative curriculum centred on a 2 year Key Stage 3 and a 3 year Key Stage 4 personalises the learning of all students.
