Teacher of Maths job summary
Biddenham is an 11-19, oversubscribed school that, as we expand, is entering the next phase of its development. Due to our popularity, and as part of our £4.5 million building programme, we need to grow and strengthen our already high performing staff team who, by 2025, will be working with 1500 students.
To that end, we are looking to appoint an inspiring and committed teacher to join our vibrant Maths department.
We offer a creative Key Stage 3 Maths curriculum, as part of our unique connected curriculum. We deliver GCSE Maths across years 9, 10 and 11, with results improving yearly. We have good numbers moving from Year 11 into Post 16 Maths, where we deliver a high quality programme of A level teaching. We deliver Level 3 core Maths, A level Maths and A level Further Maths.
Within the department we have experienced ECF mentors, who can fully support Early Careers Teachers beginning their teaching career. Additionally, we have the flexibility to offer a more experienced teacher A-level teaching in Maths, if desired. There is scope for the right candidate to progress and assume additional responsibilities within the school or department.
If you were to be successful, you will be joining a school that is at the heart of the community it serves and has been making a transformative difference to the current and future lives of its students. You will join a wider dedicated team of teachers and staff at an exciting time of growth and expansion for the school. We are committed to providing access to technology for all by providing chromebooks to all of our students and staff and developing innovative blended learning approaches to teaching.
The successful candidate will be a great teacher and someone who has strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference to young peoples’ lives. Teachers of other subjects will be considered, alongside a commitment to retrain to specialise in Maths.
As a school we offer:
Access to Levelling Up Premium worth up to £6,000 per annum,
A diverse workplace,
Chromebooks for all classroom staff and students,
Exceptional professional development and career progression,
A supportive environment for ECTs allowing them to thrive,
Positive working relationships at all levels (with a healthy dose of humour!),
A supportive leadership team,
A genuine focus on staff wellbeing with an employee support resource,
Cycle to work scheme for all staff.
This is an opportunity to join a school at an exciting point in its history and be a key player in its future. This vacancy will close when a suitable candidate has been appointed and without further notice.
