What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful applicant will be expected to be fully committed to working closely with the Head of Department and the wider team to develop the Maths provision. Equally as important will be the desire to be part of the founding cohort of staff. We are looking for teachers who have the ambition to shape the school into an outstanding provider. Candidates should consider the school’s ethos and values to ensure these align with their own.

Applicants will need to have excellent communication skills with both adults and students. Experience of working in schools or a similar environment would be advantageous, but all successful applicants will be provided with the relevant training. Regular “refresher” training is also provided at intervals throughout the year, typically a few hours on one day in the run-up to each exam series. This training is mandatory, and the time will be paid at the usual hourly rate.

What the school offers its staff

  • Opportunities to develop new skills and progress your career.
  • Access to Teachers’ pension
  • Access to discounted travel schemes
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Comprehensive training and support
  • Eye care voucher scheme

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to the satisfactory completion of an enhanced DBS check, Barred List check, the receipt of satisfactory references, online searches and any other statutory checks that are required for the post. We are an equal opportunities employer.

At Lees Brook, we believe how we learn is as important as what we learn and the kind of person we each become matters as much as what we achieve. Each of us is responsible for our actions and our behaviour; each one of us has a right to feel safe, secure and free from bullying in school; each one of us has a right to learn and achieve at the highest level we are capable of. The way in which we deal with other people matters, so we should always treat other people as we would wish to be treated and we learn from our mistakes as well as our successes. Lees Brook is a school that cares for the people within it. We have a uniquely inclusive school which allows everyone to succeed. Our safe, successful and positive learning community ensures that every student is able to fulfil their potential; but more than that, to also become well rounded young people who will go on and thrive in the world of work.
