Teacher of Maths job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic qualified Teacher of Maths to work within a dedicated, motivated and inspirational team of teachers within our Maths department from September 2021.
This role would be suitable for a newly or recently qualified teacher as well as experienced teachers. The Academy provides a full induction programme and targeted support for NQTs along with additional CPD opportunities.
The Academy has a great history of success and a bright and exciting future and we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic teacher to support the department through the next stage of its journey. The Thomas Deacon Academy that we know today opened in 2007 as one of the UK’s first and largest academies. Whilst a building does not make school, it is worth noting was designed by Norman Foster Partners addition to our impressive main academy beautiful 43-acre campus includes TDA Juniors - modern, light purpose-built Key Stage 2 facility expansive playing fields sporting facilities. In September 2018, new extension existing led accommodation being created for sixth form study centre, refectory expansion staff professional learning centre.
Moving forward, core purpose is: “To ensure each student acquires necessary knowledge, skills character positive contribution society ‘thrive’ global citizen.” Academy’s supported six pillars which provide foundations Way. Our values are: Curiosity, Commitment, Courage, Compassion, Confidence Courtesy.
In September 2019, TDA received a very positive Ofsted report, judging the academy to be Good overall. Ofsted commented favourably, amongst other things, on the overall leadership of the academy, good teaching, positive relationships between staff and students and students’ behaviour. These aspects of the academy have been maintained alongside the identified areas for development being addressed.
