Teacher of Maths job summary

We are looking to recruit a passionate and reflective teacher of Mathematics who can plan and teach thoughtful and engaging lessons. A departmental culture of sharing ideas, valuing feedback and risk taking has enabled us to achieve consistently high levels of attainment and progress for our students. Our students are passionate about Mathematics and we strive for them to be problem solvers, able to transfer both their knowledge and their skills to settings outside of the Maths classroom and beyond the School gates.

Our recently strengthened Mathematics curriculum plays a key role in enabling our students to develop holistically into critical thinkers, upstanders and extraordinary members of our local and global community. Placing our students at the heart of what we do is common to both our departmental and whole School approaches, as is our collaborative and reflective approach to development. Addey and Stanhope has an innovative and non-judgmental approach to personal development, empowering teachers to reflect on their own practice and providing them with support, training and guidance to improve outcomes for themselves and their students.

We are looking for someone who can inspire our students to see the beauty and creativity in Mathematics without losing sight of the relevance and importance of the subject to today’s world. We would love to hear from collegiate and enthusiastic applicants at any stage in their career including NQTs and early year applicants. A successful appointee would be joining a hugely positive and supportive department with a wealth of experience and established and excellent mentoring programmes.
We are looking for a teacher who is:

 Able to build strong, positive relationships with all students
 Committed to rising standards, with the highest expectations for all students.
 A collegiate and thoughtful practitioner, who will take part in the continued development of both the department and the wider School.
 Committed to developing as a teacher and to sharing in the development of others.
 Willing to take risks and be flexible within a dynamic curriculum in order to improve student experience and contribute to curriculum development.
