Teacher of Maths job summary
The Governors of this popular and successful 11-19 Community School are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics from September 2019 - or sooner if possible.
Following the appointment of the previous post holder to a more responsible post in a larger school, this will be a permanent appointment from the outset. The post is suitable for NQTs, staff in the early years of their career looking to progress as well as colleagues with significant teaching experience.
Alder Grange has an excellent record of staff support and an on-going commitment to CPD. The school is currently the lead school in a SCITT with three other local high schools and co-ordinates training opportunities across East Lancashire. The successful applicant will be expected to teach across the full 11-19 age range and to all ability groups.
Applications are welcomed from suitably experienced or enthusiastic practitioners.
The application should comprise a fully completed Application Form together with a supporting letter detailing any skills or experience you feel that you could bring to the school.

Interviews are planned to be held in late February/early March.

Alder Grange School is a successful 11-19 comprehensive High School. There are approximately 850 pupils on roll including around 140 in the sixth form.
Located in the beautiful Rossendale Valley with fantastic countryside views and conveniently close to the Motorways with easy access to Manchester and beyonds.
Alder Grange was inspected by Ofsted in January 2022 and maintained its "Good" rating. We are proud of our school’s ethos and ensure that all aspects of our work complement this.
Alder Grange has been consistently among the most heavily over-subscribed schools in East Lancashire over many years.
Pupils join the school from up to 20 primary schools across Rossendale and from beyond. Most year groups have between 145 and 150 pupils on roll.
The school has approximately 50 teaching staff and regards all as ‘Leaders’. The Senior Leadership Team is led by the Headteacher Mrs Joanna Griffiths, and comprises of the 2 DHT -Simon Varley and Kenny Riddell, and the School Business Manager, Justine Lee.
