Teacher of Maths job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of Maths to join a well-led, collaborative and high-performing team with a keen focus on securing progress for every student. Applications are welcome from experienced and newly-qualified teachers able to teach throughout the age and ability range. The school offers an excellent induction for NQTs and would be able to support you through your first year.
Alec Hunter Academy is a mixed, 11-16 comprehensive school with an established reputation as a welcoming and forward-thinking learning community. Ofsted graded the school as ‘good’ for the first time in its history in July 2017, with the report noting that “School leaders have established a culture where expectations of pupils and teachers are high and improvement is rapid”. The Mathematics Curriculum Area is among the strongest in our school, with GCSE exam results remaining consistently above 65% 9-4 in the past 3 years.
Alec Hunter is a member of the Saffron Academy Trust, working in close partnership with a small family of schools in north-west Essex, including Saffron Walden County High, one of the highest performing schools in the county.
