One of the smallest secondary schools in the country, we offer a unique experience to our students and excellent development opportunities for our staff. This post offers the chance to work alongside a highly talented and successful Assistant Headteacher and Maths practitioner. The post would be suitable for an NQT as well as someone with more experience. We seek to appoint someone we believe has the potential and desire to be an outstanding teacher. The role includes teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and Computer Science at Key Stage 4, as a GCSE option subject. We have Foundation and Higher Maths groups from Year 7 to Year 11 with smaller than average class sizes. Part of the Alston Moor Federation, there may also be the opportunity for staff here to work with children from our two linked primary schools, one of which shares our building and site with us. The Alston Moor Federation are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory reference checks and other pre-employment checks.
