Teacher of Maths at KS5 job summary
Are you a specialist teacher of maths at KS5 or aspiring to be so? This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic secondary maths teacher with a desire to specialise in KS5 teaching and supporting students at KS4 with the transition to A-Level and Core Maths. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential and some experience of teaching at KS5 is desirable. We are looking for someone who is passionate about encouraging students to take their study of maths into KS5 and beyond, someone with the creativity and enthusiasm to inspire our students. Our KS5 curriculum is developing to have a greater focus on Teaching for Understanding and ensures we focus on depth of understanding, meaning that our students get a true understanding of Maths at their level. There will be many opportunities for the successful candidate to work in a team of experienced teachers to develop this further.
At Outwood Grange Academy we expect our staff to be the best they can be and in turn encourage and bring out the best in our wonderful students. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility – towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. This is an opportunity to join our Maths Department who are committed to driving progress and attainment to improve the life chances of every student.
Our Executive Director, Kathryn Greenhalgh leads the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub and is keen to appoint someone who is ambitious for professional development either in the classroom or across our Family of Schools. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals.
