Teacher of Maths at Year 7 and KS3 job summary
Are you a KS2 primary mathematics specialist or aspiring to be so? This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic primary teacher with a desire to expand their teaching for mastery in the transition from KS2 to KS3. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential but you do not have to have a degree in maths. Our KS3 curriculum focuses on Teaching for Understanding (Mastery) and ensures we focus on depth of understanding rather than acceleration, meaning that our students get a true understanding of Maths at their level before moving on.
At Outwood Grange Academy we expect our staff to be the best they can be and in turn encourage and bring out the best in our wonderful students. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility – towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. This is an opportunity to join our Maths Department who are committed to driving progress and attainment to improve the life chances of every student.
Our Executive Director, Kathryn Greenhalgh leads the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub and is keen to appoint someone who is ambitious for professional development either in the classroom or across our Family of Schools. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
