What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative and highly committed teaching team at the recently opened Free School; Bluecoat Trent Academy. We invite applications for the post of Teacher of Maths from outstanding, enthusiastic and successful teachers with a proven ability to teach inspirational lessons to our students. Interest from Early Careers Teachers is also welcomed.
We are now in our third year of opening therefore our staff team is still comparatively small. The successful applicant will therefore have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Department, SLT and colleagues from across the Trust, so a desire to collaborate is welcomed. Equally as important will be the aspiration to be part of our visionary staff team and growing school community. We are looking for teachers who have the ambition to shape the school into an outstanding provider. Candidates should consider the school’s ethos and values to ensure these align with their own. This is an exciting time to join Bluecoat Trent as we design the curriculum for our first Key Stage 4 cohort and prepare to move into our brand new school premises.
Our recent OFSTED stated “The curriculum demonstrates high ambition for everyone. The school has high expectations of all pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
Candidates should pay attention to the job description/person specification and explain within their application how they meet the criteria, whilst also describing what they will bring to the post from their own knowledge and experience.

Bluecoat Trent Academy
The Bluecoat Trent Academy (BTA) opened its doors in September 2021 with the founding cohort of Year 7 pupils. BTA is an 11-16, non-faith school. For the first year BTA accommodates six forms of entry, growing to eight forms in subsequent years.
The new build for the academy will be built on the former site of Clarendon College, on the edge of Forest Fields, close to Mapperley Park. Whilst the new academy is being constructed BTA will, for the first three years, be based in its own building on the site of Bluecoat Aspley Academy on Aspley Lane. The school will be underpinned by the ethos of all the Archway academies whilst establishing its own unique vision and values.
