What skills and experience we're looking for

Required from September 2023, we are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Maths to teach Key Stages 3 & 4 in this forward thinking 11-16 academy which is rapidly improving. The Academy is committed to building a team of exceptional leaders and teachers in a positive and supportive learning environment. This post would suit either a newly qualified or experienced teacher who wishes to develop his/her career in a positive learning environment where staff are committed to the success of the pupils.

Darwen Vale High School is an Aldridge Academy and as such, part of the national multi academy trust. At a more local level we are part of the North West Cluster of schools that includes 3 other secondary schools and 1 primary school. Darwen Vale High School achieved unprecedented success in their 2019 examination results. Students performed at levels above national averages in many subjects with outstanding performances in English and Mathematics. Our Progress 8 score increased by 0.42, this means that every student’s performance in the 2018-2019 cohort has increased by almost half a grade in each subject compared to 2017-2018 results.
