Your new school
Four Dwellings Academy is part of Lift Schools, a MAT with 57 schools, 10 in the Midlands, which allows you access to the best training programmes available as well as more internal opportunities. Four Dwellings is a secondary school led by an ambitious and dedicated Principal, Claire Stoneman. Having been with the school since 2022, she has established a strong leadership team that has been recognised in the school's recent 'good' Ofsted inspection, acknowledging 'leaders have ensured the school sits at the heart of the local community again'. The school has just received the best GCSE results to date, is above national for both progress and attainment, and has topped the list in Birmingham as the second most improved school for progress in the city. They are now looking to recruit a Teacher of Maths to join a thriving department.
Your new role
The Maths department is well established with strong teachers and hardworking pupils, and has seen the best ever results this year, with 80% of pupils getting 4+. The team have an excellent working relationship with the English team; together they have improved the school's Basics outcomes to the best they've ever been last summer. We are now looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of Maths to further strengthen the department.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with strong subject knowledge in Maths and a proven track record of successfully teaching Maths at secondary level. You will have a good or developing understanding of cognitive science and its importance in the classroom, you understand the importance of a knowledge-rich curriculum, and you will support the school's belief that all children can achieve, irrespective of background or circumstance.
