This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to apply for the position of Head of Mathematics at Longsands Academy, from 1st September 2023. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the curriculum leadership team, providing curricular expertise to lead and develop a department with successful outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. The Maths Department at Longsands is a large and thriving part of a successful school. The team prides itself on its collaborative approach and the high standards in teaching and in the outcomes it achieves. Applicants will have high aspirations and a proven track record of delivering consistently good teaching, which results in high levels of student attainment and progress. Longsands Academy is an 11-18 fully-inclusive secondary school serving the community of St Neots and the surrounding area. The academy has around 1750 students including 250 in the Sixth Form. Longsands is proud of its inclusive and aspirational approach, whether that is in supporting students preparing for Oxbridge or working with students with special educational needs. We are ambitious for every child, no matter their background or circumstance, prior attainment or needs.
