Teacher of Maths/English (SEND) job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced Maths/English Teacher to work with SEND students and children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Applications are welcome from qualified and experienced Maths and English Teachers who are able to teach students with often high-level needs.
This is a new role where the SEND teacher will be the subject teacher and have specific lessons timetabled with very small groups of funded/SEN students. The successful teacher must have:
• A track record of teaching Maths and/or English within the curriculum
• An excellent knowledge and understanding of the value of using progress data on pupil performance to inform teaching and learning will be integral to driving student performance and attainment, along with delivering effective outcomes for all
• As a qualified Maths/English Teacher, you must be passionate about your subjects and make good use of this passion to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities
• Be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent
• Ability to teach Maths and/or English up to Key Stage 4
• Have excellent inter-personal and organisational skills and the ability to deal SEND Students
• Be an effective classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and committed to ensuring all students succeed and fulfil their potential
• Demonstrate a range of innovative teaching and learning strategies
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess additional interventions
• Hold an Enhanced DBS (A full DBS check for the successful candidate).
