What skills and experience we're looking for
- A degree in an appropriate discipline
- Teaching qualification
- Recent successful experience in teaching the 11 – 18 age range
- Familiarity with developments in the National Curriculum and Post 16 Curriculum
- Evidence of excellent classroom practice
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Ability to teach lessons which engage, challenge and motivate students
- Have high expectations of students and a commitment to raising achievement
- Ability to teach Maths to GCSE and A Level
- Ability to share and support developments within the Learning Area and School
- Ability to form professional relationships with both students and colleagues
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A commitment to continue own personal and professional development
- Imaginative/keen to try out new ideas in the classroom
- To be able to work as part of a team and contribute to wider school life
- Able to take initiative/seek advice as appropriate
- Enthusiasm
- Ability to self evaluate
