What skills and experience we're looking for

  • A degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Teaching qualification
  • Recent successful experience in teaching the 11 – 18 age range
  • Familiarity with developments in the National Curriculum and Post 16 Curriculum
  • Evidence of excellent classroom practice
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Ability to teach lessons which engage, challenge and motivate students
  • Have high expectations of students and a commitment to raising achievement
  • Ability to teach Maths to GCSE and A Level
  • Ability to share and support developments within the Learning Area and School
  • Ability to form professional relationships with both students and colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A commitment to continue own personal and professional development
  • Imaginative/keen to try out new ideas in the classroom
  • To be able to work as part of a team and contribute to wider school life
  • Able to take initiative/seek advice as appropriate
