Teacher of Maths

Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) to commence 1st January 2020

Outer London Pay Scales plus generous Recruitment Allowance

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Maths teacher, who is an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to academic excellence and help to embrace our mantra of achievement for all. You will plan and deliver high quality lessons and be committed to achieving excellent results for students, instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn. Teaching will be across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities available for teaching at KS5.

Essential educational requirements

Applicants should be educated to degree level in Maths or related subject

Essential qualifications

UK Qualified Teacher status as recognised by the DfE for teaching in secondary education

Essential skills and experience

Proven classroom management skills.

Potential to teach at least good lessons across the age and ability range.

Appreciation of the application of subject knowledge in education.

Understanding of mathematics links with other areas of the curriculum.

A good working knowledge of ICT systems and the application of ICT in the classroom.

Ability to prioritise and set personal targets.

Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.

Ability to assume a form tutor role.

Commitment to own professional development.

Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and the need to work within the school’s Child Protection Policy.

Commitment to equal opportunities.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Ability to teach Maths A Level.
