Highbury Fields School is a community in which everyone enjoys academic and social success. An 11 to 18 girls’ school, we serve a culturally rich, but often underprivileged, community and are fiercely determined that every child in our care will become a confident young woman, who is socially and academically accomplished.

The school’s 2016 ‘outstanding’ OFSTED report and 2019 progress 8 score of 0.82 have established our students’ reputation for academic excellence and we are highly regarded in the local community for our calm, focused learning environment. Our student’s GCSE results in 2022 indicate that this level of progress has been maintained.

However, we are neither complacent nor satisfied. The school strives to be excellent in all aspects of its work but there are vital areas of our provision that are yet to meet our exacting standards or our ambitions for our students. Our dedicated Maths team is currently revising the year 7- 9 Maths curriculum, to ensure excellent progress for all students.

‘As a school in which everyone is recognised as an individual, Highbury Fields inspires students to be highly aspirational and have very positive attitudes to their education.’

Ofsted October 2016

It is in this context that the school is seeking a highly skilled Teacher of Maths to join our team. Thanks to the exceptional attitudes of our students and the dedication of their teachers, maths is flourishing at Highbury Fields School. GCSE results are consistently outstanding compared to national averages.

The successful candidate will have expert subject knowledge and be an excellent teacher of maths. This post is suitable for a newly qualified or more experienced teacher.

If you are someone who wants to develop their career in a forward thinking and highly supportive environment, who can foster effective and harmonious relationships with members of staff and who truly believes, like we do, that every child can achieve excellence, then we look forward to receiving your application. We particularly welcome applications from black/ethnic minority groups.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be highly ambitious for all students
  • Be a team player
  • Be willing to contribute to the wider school curriculum
