What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an energetic and passionate teacher to join our Maths department on a full time basis to from September 2023.

At Huntington School we endeavour to find the right person for the job and in order to do this we are appealing to both newly qualified teachers and highly experienced colleagues who may have an existing TLR. Ultimately if you are an expert in Maths and can communicate this expertise to students through thoughtfully planned lessons and considered feedback, then we want to hear from you.

Your will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or pending PGCE/QTS outcome)
  • Recent experience in an 11-16 school
  • A good first degree in a related subject
  • Evidence of knowledge and capabilities relating to the teaching of Mathematics to GCSE
  • Evidence of knowledge and capabilities relating to the teaching of Mathematics to A-Levell
  • Clarity of purpose and a student-centred vision
  • Good personal and interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Good levels of numeracy, literacy and ICT
  • Good time-management and personal organisation
  • Must support the school’s aims and values, setting a good example of attendance, punctuality and appearance
  • Evidenced up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of learners
  • Good knowledge of a range of assessment practices and confident about using data to improve levels of achievement
  • Demonstrate a determined attitude towards life and show great resilience
  • Must have a great work ethic and enjoy working hard
