Teacher of Maths (KS3/KS4) job summary

About OAT:

This is an incredible opportunity for a Teacher of Maths to make a difference and join a great team of people within a supportive, values-led organisation. Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit MATs in England with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students. We have been around since 2009 making us one of the longest established trusts. Our mission is to be the Trust that makes the biggest difference both inside and outside the classroom.

Our vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential, whether going on to study at a leading university or entering the world of work. We are determined to become the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom

Alternative Provision:

As part of our family of 43 schools, we have three alternative provision (AP) academies and managed intervention centres that serve the most vulnerable students in their local and wider communities. We serve the needs of children who, for whatever reason, have found mainstream education a challenge, which closely aligns with the Trusts’ sole purpose and values.

Our AP schools are supported by a large education team and led by an education director. As you know, when schools find that they can no longer support the behaviour needs of some students, they access AP for a period of time and attend full time to continue their education. The overall aim is to return the young person back into mainstream education, but for some it is a place where they complete their education. This means that high quality AP needs to serve the behaviour needs of students, and also deliver a high-quality curriculum. Our AP schools work in collaboration with schools in their local areas and are an integral part of the local authority inclusion offer, supporting students with additional needs and SEND.

OAT is a great organisation to work for. We offer:

  • commitment to your continued professional development
  • TPS
  • Season Ticket Loan Scheme
  • Employee Benefits and Wellbeing Package
  • Cycle to work scheme

How to apply:

To apply, please submit your completed application and supporting statement by 5pm on 26th January 2024. A full job description and person specification is attached.
