Job description

To undertake the education of pupils in the secondary age range, in accordance with the requirements of the Conditions of Employment of School Teachers and have due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum, the school’s Mission Statement, aims and objectives, schemes of work and policies laid down by the Governing Body.

To participate and share in the corporate responsibility for the well-being and discipline of all the pupils in the school.

Essential educational requirements

1 A graduate with appropriate teaching qualification in Mathematics
2 Be an excellent classroom practitioner able to secure student engagement in learning
3 A good understanding of classroom management techniques
4 Experience in teaching 11-16 Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4

Experience in teaching 11-16 Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4
A sound understanding of what constitutes effective teaching and learning within the classroom; to provide challenge and support for all students
Able to make effective use of resources, including ICT. Able to use range of management software
Commitment, energy, enthusiasm and an ability to motivate children
An applicant who can work as part of a team and share new ideas
Good time keeping skills and an ability to work to deadlines
To maintain the highest professional standards as set out in the 2012 teacher Standards document
Willing to contribute to the school’s programme of extra curricular activities
