Teacher of Mathematics
Full Time – one year contract or permanent
Required for September 2020
Required for September 2020, a qualified mathematics teacher who can teach confidently up to and including A level Mathematics. Potential for A Level further Maths teaching in the future for the right candidate. The post would suit an NQT or a more experienced teacher.
The Maths department achieves consistently excellent GCSE and A Level results. This year achieving 27% Grade 9 at GCSE and 35% A* at A level. Many students go on to study Mathematics and related subjects at Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group Universities. Maths is the most popular A Level for boys and girls with many taking Further Maths and STEP papers.

Experience of teaching A Level mathematics
Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum in the subject
Particular knowledge and experience of working with able and gifted young people
An understanding of the way children learn and how individual needs may be assessed and met
Knowledge & experience of Safeguarding
Effective communicator with children, staff and parents
A team player, working with colleagues collaboratively
Experience in fostering good relationships between all members of the school community
Appropriate motivation for working with children
Well-developed planning & organising skills including time management, delegation and administration
Emotional resilience & maturity
Personal stamina & energy including a good record of attendance and health
Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
