Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.

Over recent years examination results have been improving rapidly and 2019 validated progress measure was +0.08 (FFT). Phoenix is a school that aspires to turn every child’s dream into reality; believes that there is no limit to what can be achieved and succeeds through passion, commitment and determination

We are seeking to appoint a highly talented and innovative, qualified teacher of Maths to join our friendly and supportive team. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to inspire excellent learning.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to develop their passion for learning and create a positive and inspiring learning environment for our students. This position will suit both newly qualified and experienced candidates, and is ideal for recent entrants to the profession. The students and staff at Phoenix face an exciting future. If you would like to be part of a school that is committed to becoming the very best, and if you can inspire and motivate our students, you could be the person for this role.

Phoenix is a multi-cultural 11-19 secondary school, serving 1986 students and rapidly expanding to over 2000 students in the North of West Bromwich close to the border with Walsall. Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has quickly established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through our commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.

At Phoenix we are a school proud of our achievements, our positive ethos and the excellent relationships we have between students and teachers. However we are not complacent and recognise that there is more to be done if we are to achieve our ambition of becoming an outstanding school. We are seeking teachers who have the skills, talents and expertise to engage and inspire our students, teachers who are prepared to go the extra mile and who genuinely believe that there is no ceiling on what our students can achieve.

We invest heavily in the professional development of our staff and have a calendar of high quality activities that support the career progression of individuals and the priorities of the school. As one of only a few schools across the country to benefit from the government’s priority schools building programme, we are confident that state of the art facilities will greatly benefit the whole community of Hateley Heath; this really is an exciting time to be joining Phoenix!

Phoenix really is a great place to work, but don’t take my word for it, please take the opportunity to visit us and see for yourself. I would be proud and delighted to show you around.
