What the school offers its staff
UTC Norfolk is a 14-19 school with a fabulous £10m building with a 21st century learning space, £1.3m of specialist equipment and a burning ambition: to develop tomorrow’s engineering and technology specialists. To do this, we aim to ensure that our students have the skills, qualifications and experience to go to university, to take-up skilled apprenticeships or employment. We have a specialism in Engineering but we also cater for 14-19 age students with interests in Science, Computing and Mathematics.
The Mathematics Department at UTCN is well resourced and consists of three mathematicians. At Key Stage 4, all students study Edexcel GCSE Mathematics and many students choose to carry on to study it at A Level. A number of our Engineering courses include applied Mathematics, with this component delivered by the Maths team. Whilst we expect you to be an excellent practitioner, what is more important is your ability to help develop the department and inspire the next generation of mathematicians, scientists and engineers. This post would be suitable for an NQT or an experienced colleague.
There is potential to develop this into a part-time role for the right candidate.
