Richard Huish College has a strong reputation regionally in its offer of a wide range of A level and vocational courses in Taunton and the surrounding areas in Somerset.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, multi-talented, versatile Media teacher to join our growing Media department. You will join an excellent team, strongly committed to reflecting on its teaching techniques and sharing excellent resources.

The Media department is growing with increasing numbers in both our Level 2 and 3 courses. As a teacher in the department, you will work within a successful team of 4 teachers delivering a range of courses, including the OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Digital Media, Extended Diploma (moving to the Pearson BTEC) and the Level First Certificate in Digital Media. We are seeking a part-time teacher to teach across this range of qualifications.

The successful candidate will have the skill set and adaptability to deliver both examined content- and portfolio-based materials in vocational subjects. You will also have the ability to inspire and develop students and be dedicated to raising the standard of teaching and using a range of strategies to deliver continued success. We are looking for someone who has a strong technical background, experience of Adobe Creative Suite is essential.

Students across all subjects have access to dedicated Mac suite classrooms with relevant software and are supported by a technician.

  • Salary: Sixth Form Colleges Teachers pay scale £30,500 - £47,133 (FTE) Depending on experience
  • Actual salary based on 0.8 FTE: £20,400-£37,706
  • Hours: Part time 0.8 FTE
  • Contract: Permanent
